Lift it with some of sptb's springs and stuff some gnarly 31/10.50's under it and you'll be fine. Or better yet get some tuition from an experienced off road driver. After all, even with the mod's i've given blue i can get stuck all too easily if i drive against my road sense, or put another way, dick about in holes i should leave alone!

All depends what your asking of it,what tyres you have on and what experience you have off roading??
I have been laning and P&P and if you're sensible about what your asking it to do,it should be fine!!:thumb::sly:
I'm still learning every time i go out!!

with me just buying the terrano it still has enduro a/ts on and the front end needs the torsion bar cranking up , ive been off roading suzukis for 7 years now on every green lane around derbyshire and 5 local play day arond me , but the suzis all have live axels and noe big hanging down wish bones , lifting the torsion will this angle thease up a bit more:confused:

If your truck is sitting nose down then they def need the torsion bars adjusting. A few month ago I was in the dales with a few off here & I kept hitting the front skin plate which had to be hammered back out:augie:& cliped the bottom arms a quiet a few times:bawling:but since adjusting the torsion bars up I found today whilst out in the Dales I only cought the skid plate once & that was just & that was on a rather rocky track:thumb:

In all my trips out with T2s/Mav have barely ever had to put a strap on one, mines done Stanage as have others, I've not gone over to the Buxton side of Derbyshire but others have and done all the "hard" lanes. Mine romped up Fremmington edge yesterday and Cosmic and Sweety came down but could probably have gone up tbh - but best off safe when you have to drive home.

If you're getting stuck you're either driving like a complete******* or theres something wrong. Ride height is one thing but also have you changed the diff oil? With proper LSD oil in in a clean diff these LSDs are almost as good as a locker, mines so tight you can hear the tyres scrabbling in car parks when on lock yet no problems on the road with tail happy behaviour.

in 4wd all 4 wheels are spinning so no problems here , ive now lifted the front end , (how much are your rear lift springs)
also what 16" wheels fit on a terrano as im getting new tyres i might aswell get some 16s to give me a bit more??
and no i havent changed the diff oil yet , cheers

Just get bigger tyres bigger wheels won't themselves make any diference, the truelly big sizes are more plentiful in 15" (cos the yanks use 15") whereas the slightly bigger are more plentiful in 16" cos of landrovers.

31/10.5/15 seems to be a popular T2 choice for off road work, I've got 30/9.5/15 but want to step up to 33s (or bigger) but bodylift and probabky more mods needed to get them under.

ive not changed the diff oil yet , my freind that has a terrano said i shouldnt be able to wheel spin it on the road , well i can with mine , how do i know if mine needs lsd oil , there isnt any sticker on it and in the autodata cd it says to put 80/90 gear oil in both diffs???
do all 1996 round headlight models have lsd oil in them :)

Autodata is wrong, even Nissan dealers have been known to put the wrong oil in - all Terrano 2/Mavericks came with LSD's.

With the LSD working you should still be able to spin wheels on the road only you'll spin both at once and get some proper tail out sidewys action too

Precisely - 3 wheels spinning IIRC - 2 rears and 1 front.

Mine will wheel spin like a goodun in the wet & once managed to get it to spin all the way to 3rd gear:D:D:thumb::thumb:but i've never worked out if it both wheels or just one:rolleyes:
As for having a sticker on the diff I did'nt think I had one but after cleaning all the muck & rust of the diff I found it:augie:

Could be why your gearbox is so noisy:nenau::augie::rob::sly::nono:

normal 80/90 do you mean thanks
also ive put some comma limited slip 80/90 gear oil in the rear diff is this ok and how do i know if the diff is working ok , do i jack it up and spin the wheels or other ??:nenau:

sptb

The details are in the manual link but the gearbox and transfer need to be API GL4, front diff API GL5 and rear API GL5LS. Basically hypoid gear oil for the diffs and non hypoid for the boxes.

A rough check to see if the diff is working is to jack both wheels up and turn one of the wheels, the other should turn in the same direction, or alternatively jack up one wheel and with the gearbox in neutral you shouldn't be able to turn the jacked up wheel.

People have found that changing the oil again after 500 miles improves the locking action. The above test won't tell you how well its locking but you should notice it dragging when manouvering in car parks etc. Can sometime be a bit noisy to but that is normal.

good news i jacked the drivers side rear wheel up and in neutral with the hand brake off it locked up so i jacked the 2 rear wheels up and yes they do spin in the same direction when turned so ne problems here
it might be a problem with me auto hubs again when i bought the new one a few weeks ago i just bunged it on is there any particular way they go on or not , cheers
